My Opinion::: Vertex Standard is the most user friendly system on the market today. It's super bright screen, with multiple viewing settings from sunlight to night navigation, great tech-support, and 3 year warranty make the Standard # 1. The only bad thing about Standard is its availability. It's growing popularity makes it hard to keep them in stock at a cost less than $500.

My Vessel is a 44 ft Searay that's used as a USCG-Aux Patrol, SAR, Training and other USCG-Aux operations vessel. In my opinion the Standard VHF radio with a Standard Horizon Chart-Plotter is a great combination for the recreational & small commercial boater. And to put the icing on the cake, add Nobeltec Navigation software with an on-board computer, tied in to the Standard Chart-plotter and you will be king of the seas
